It’s always nice to see sportsmanship amongst opponents on the court, even if no one is looking. Nothing more satisfying than to help your rivals and causing them befuddlement. ;)

I’m sure most of you guys know already, but I joined the tennis team at SCC about a month ago. It’s been pretty hectic ever since I joined but I know it’s definitely a good experience for me. I had to get out of my comfort zone, stop taking naps everyday (lol…), manage my time, and show commitment to the team. Fortunately, there was a girl on the team that I knew from high school (yup the one I’m matching full out with haha) and we’ve been able to bond a lot and I love it. I’ve been able to bring up God a little bit and she said she’ll come to GPC sometime! :) I’m also working on reaching out to others on the team so we’ll see how that goes heehee.
I’ve definitely had my ups and downs since I’ve joined the team but my cousin seriously convicted me over the weekend. As I was complaining about my trip and how exhausted I was, he told me that I should be lucky I can even play a sport I love. Some people aren’t able or eligible to even play sports and here I am complaining when it was my choice to join. It’s a blessing actually.
So although it is still kind of stressful, I want to continue to try hard with the remaining couple of weeks of the season. Grateful to God for this experience.
It’s not a huge deal or anything, like actually. I just wanted to get it off my chest.
So there have been a few comments that kind of bugged me and I just wanted to make things clear.
“You still watch basketball? Jeremy isn’t even playing anymore.”
“Did you even watch basketball before Jeremy Lin?”
“You only like Jeremy because he’s Chinese” (Taiwanese actually…)
and etc.
First of all, yes I still watch basketball… I’m a Knick fan, not just a Lin fan. I keep up with their games and even some other teams as well. I like basketball okay?
And so what if I didn’t watch much basketball before? I did every once in awhile but I wasn’t as into it as I am now. I might not know EVERYTHING and memorized all the stats but I do know a lot more than some of you guys think. It’s not like it’s too late to become a basketball fan.
No I don’t like Jeremy because he’s Taiwanese. I love his story, I like how he glorifies God through what he does (a reason why I like Landry too), and I think he’s a good player. I also like Rubio, Novak, Nowitzki, some others, and they aren’t Chinese.
Btw I hope I didn’t come off as pissed because I’m not haha I just felt like saying..?
